Ranunculus No. 2 -Original Watercolor Painting
"Contentment"
Created as part of the Refresh Collection.
Details: An original painting, unframed, 4.5x4.6 inches, colored pencil outline under high quality watercolor on cold-pressed (textured) paper. Artist's signature clearly visible in gray pen.
Inspiration: The movement of this piece is different than her "Rose Imposter" partner. That ranunculus has a little bit of attitude to her.
This little flower... She's sweeter.
It's like she's just sitting there contentedly with a gentle smile. I love the little petal wrapping around the pistil (in the center)! I was just facinated by it in the original flower. I think it contributes to her shyness, like a little dimple or a hand over her face.
Not every flower has the confidence and presence of a rose. Sometimes, our blooming looks a little gentler and quieter, but it's still full of so much joy and beauty.
Framing: I imagine this painting matted or floating over a mat in a natural or stark white to highlight the blues and best showcase the detail. I'd set it in a frame that complements your home’s aesthetic, maybe in a vintage or modern metalic, or maybe a light wood. More information on how to best preserve and frame your artwork will come with your painting shippment.
