Rose No. 4 -Original Watercolor Painting
"Blooming"
Created as part of the Refresh Collection.
Details: An original painting, unframed, 6x7 inches, colored pencil outline under high quality watercolor on cold-pressed (textured) paper. Artist's signature clearly visible in gray pen.
Inspiration: After doing studies of roses 1-3, I had finally clarified the vision for this collection and the theme of my last few months. The greens, pinks, and yellows were beautiful, but the peacefulness I was seeking just radiated off the page when I explored using only blue.
This painting marks the beginning of truly being refreshed artistically. The rose's beauty that I was admiring just becomes even more apparent in the simplicity of the palette, and I was able to accentuate the delicate details with the blue and white contrast.
Settling into a peaceful life takes intention, practice, and patience, which the previous three studies represent. We grow and develop until, eventually, we bloom.
This rose has settled into the flower she was created to be in this season, and I hope she inspires you to pursue it also.
Framing: I imagine this painting matted or floating over a mat in a natural or stark white to highlight the blues and best showcase the detail. I'd set it in a frame that complements your home’s aesthetic, maybe in a vintage or modern metalic, or maybe a light wood. More information on how to best preserve and frame your artwork will come with your painting shippment.
